USABILITY EVALUATION
-
Usability evaluation is fundamentally testing,
performed by a usability expert. It usually is the first step
in the traditional usability testing cycle, since an expert can quickly
identify potential problem spots and reduce the number of usability
issues identified by testers. Expert usability evaluation is
quick and inexpensive compared to normal testing and provides for
rapid usability improvements.
- Uses uniform criteria for usability
- Experience provides a solid base for consistent
results
- Quick to execute
- Improvements can be made within days of the expert
test completion
- Based on over a quarter-century of software interface (user
friendliness) experiences and Human Computer Interface studies, we can
quickly identify usability issues and recommend changes.
-
-
- Websites can be quickly evaluated at a high level, listing
the types of usability issues observed on the site. This report
will enable the design team to locate all similar occurrences and make
changes to fix these issues.
-
- Websites can be evaluated in detail, listing the types
of usability issues observed on the site and every occurrence of every
issue that needs to be modified/improved. This report will enable
the design team to focus on applying the fixes to every specific item
on the list (like a builders "Punch-List") and make changes
to fix these issues.
-
- The recommendations report details specific changes for
each issue identified in the Detailed Usability Report (described above)
and what the nature of the change is, its characteristics and other
recommendations
